A stressful Holiday :(

It started Christmas Eve... After getting home from doing hair for a girl in my ward we were all chilling on the couches watching TV. Kiel asked me what I wanted to do for the rest of the day... I dunno I responded.... one hour later... Connor was playing like normal on the couch goofing around then all of a sudden he starts to look up at the ceiling kinda dazed and then slowly lays down and then started convulsing. We freak out.. My son was having a seizure. He was out of it for a good 2-3 minutes.. Foaming all over my shirt but still breathing thank goodness.. Just completely out of it. We rushed to get things together and get the stupid dogs in their crates. I jumped in the back seat holding Connor still and trying to talk to him. All I said to Kiel was get in and Drive to Banner Desert NOW! I called 911 and just asked what I could do for Him. It was weird that I was the one that was calm, assertive and focused while.. Tough Kiel was driving while crying and freaking out. The ER was helpful.. they did blood work and a CAT scan, a blessing from Uncle Sean and Dad... and 3 hours later we were sent home. We were told that this was a freak attack that rarely but sometimes happens. We counted our blessings, Thanked our Heavenly Father and went home. Right after we ate Dinner Kiel was washing dishes and Connor sat in a corner and went into another Seizure... I grabbed him, got my cell and got into the back seat yet again. They finally admitted Connor and decided he needed a EEG and an MRI. One Long night in an uncomfortable "lounger" later Connor and I found each other Christmas morning in a hospital room with beeping and nurses coming in and out. Unfortunately though no tests were able to be done on Christmas.. Of Course... What were we thinking having seizures on Christmas Eve..?!? Entertaining a 17month old boy in a hospital hooked up to an IV all day isn't very fun!!! Poor guy. But Santa and Mrs. Clause came and made a special appearance and brought a Huge bag of toys and books for Connor. As well and Fox 10 news… I didn’t catch the news that night but I signed a waiver.. so maybe he was on there! Connor got so many stuffed animals and blankets from the hospital and awesome people that just love serving. It was a really nice surprise. That night Kiel convinced me to come home and get some good sleep and Connor would be fine for the night (which he was.. he's a GREAT sleeper!!). Ah. I love my bed! So this morning all the tests were done (which TOtally sucks by the way!!) It's hard on the parents. I had to get him to sleep, then wake him up and then 10 minutes later put him back to sleep and then 20 minutes later wake him up again for the stupid EEG. I need a MasSage!! Thank goodness the MRI they sedated him.. he finally got a good nap. Drug induced but... still counts. The results............drum roll... He had a Nasty inner ear infection that lowered his "threshold" which caused the seizures. He had 3 rounds of Antibiotics and we were released at 5 tonight!!! That's not what I was expecting for Christmas this year but I've really counted my blessings. I am so grateful for so many things. Presents don't matter. I was just so grateful that Kiel was there with me through the entire thing! Any other Wednesday night I would have been on my own. I love my boys so much and I would do and have done these past 2 days anything for them! I hope everyone had a Very Normal and Merry Christmas. Thank you for the love and support! Connor is doing great. We're going to keep his isolated for a little while, make sure he gets healthy again!!

*Merry Christmas*

I was really bad this year about everything but I do feel bad about not sending out a Christmas card... I guess I was just going to let my Mom speak for me in her's.. sad but I haven't felt up to doing much lately. This pregnancy and a 2 week old Cold is just kicking me in the butt. I'm very excited for Christmas though.. can't wait to see Connor come down the stairs and see all his presents (that he can actually open now). And plus I'm so ExCiTeD about getting down the Christmas tree.. it doesn't smell to strong thank goodness but... It's messy and the dogs use it as a "back scratcher"!!! So needles are everywhere. Oh well. Thanks to wood flooring it's not that bad. I guess I'm just excited for things to slow down again. I've been going, going, going so much lately.. I think I'm going to use my vacation to Utah next week as a long "nap". Sorry guys. Connor's all yours!! loveya~ Sorry for not being in Utah for Christmas this year parents. We wish we were there... Kiel hates that his job takes over all aspects of his life most of the time but we sure are grateful for it! We love you and miss you so much!!! To EVeryone elSe Have a SAFE and Merry Christmas!!!!

Update....

The latest news.....
I'm pregnant!!! We found out December 6th... which means.. I'm probably due early August which doesn' t make this very exciting but Heavenly Father is blessing us with another little Monster!! We didn't know how long it was going to take to get pregnant again so we just left it in Heavenly Father's hands. Kiel's not to excited about finding out the sex of the baby this time but I persuaded him to go with it this time around. He's a good guy. Anyways.. So I've been feeling nausious (very exciting stuff) and all of us have been fighting a cold in our house.. It's taken me the longest to get better, thanks baby!! But we're all just looking forward to Christmas next week!!

I'm Back!!!

We were having some issues with my old computer so a Great guy in our Ward was looking at it and tried to fix it but there were to many viruses and it was old so he was gracious enough to clean off his old computer (due to their getting a new one for Christmas) and give it to us!!! So we're back online and everything minus all our old music and Documents.. Boo... but at least we have our pictures still! Anyways.. so I'm back. Finally! I felt alienated not having a computer and the Internet!

Poor Buddy and Petey

I took our dogs into the vet today for a couple of reasons but It turns out that Petey is 5-6 pounds over weight (Thanks for feeding him your scraps Connor!!), Petey has an ear infection due to Allergies..... Buddy on the other hand is a OBSESSIVE licker so his belly and Petey's is red and rashy from that so now we have a Steriod Spray for that... Buddy also tore is ACL on his back right leg and he'll need to have surgery! Nice. He might also have Hipdisplacia due to being part Pit/Lab. So after x-rays we'll know for sure... so right now he's on Anti-inflammatory meds to help with the pain. Poor doggies!!! I set up a calendar to keep track on when to give them their meds and sprays!!! I love them so much! Connor would hate not having his dogs! Fun day:( (This is an older picture... Petey's a little heavier but he's now 24.5 pounds and Buddy is 64.8 pounds)

The work goes on...

*~LA Temple~*
Date: Saturday, November 15, 2008,
6:16 PM
My dear family, brothers and sisters, friends and leaders: My heart is overflowing with joy and gratitude to our Heavenly Father for His tender mercies and mighty miracles in our behalf. I just have to share this with you. As most of you know, I am a Temple ordinance worker and work the morning shift in the LA Temple every Saturday. Today, I had the priviledge of translating sister Martz-the new assistant Matron's-message during our devotional. She started like this "The prophet Joseph Smith said that no unhallowed hand would be able to stop this Work from progressing. These past few weeks when mobs have combined and armies have gathered against the saints, the Lord has protected His house". She went on to say that those, like her, who were inside the Temple when mobs were surrounding it, did not realize how scary and terrifying this looked on TV to the rest of us, because inside the House of the Lord all was calm and there was peace abundant. After Proposition 8 passed, the Temple began receiving threatening calls and mail from those opposing it. They were warned that more than 5000 people would come to the Temple and burn it to the ground, and stop Its work. The first Thursday when the mob came, the new LA Temple President called the Salt Lake City Temple Offices for instructions. He was instructed to call the local police and to insure the safety of those attending the Temple by closing the gates. The assistant Matron said today, that it was a tender mercy from the Lord that the mob chose that Thursday to come since they had only one person coming to receive his own endowment that day, which he received in time to leave before trouble started. The LAPD and the FBI responded quickly to the Temple Presidency's summons and patroled the grounds and kept the mob from entering the same. Most of them had never been there before and expressed their surprise at how beautiful and peaceful all around was. They were invited to come back during the Christmas season to see the lights and they promised they would. On Thursday, November 13th, sister Campbell, a secretary in the Temple, was opening the mail and upon opening a large manila envelope found inside a smaller one. When she opened this one, a white powder flew all around her desk. She thought this could be related to the demonstrators and feared the worst-ANTRAX. She contacted the President, who in turn called the Salt Lake City Temple office again for instructions. The FBI, the LAPD, and even the SWAT teams were once again in the grounds to investigate, and the Temple once again had to close from around 11:30 AM to 5PM. They closed the gates and were instructed to keep all the people there wherever they were found at the time. Those in the parking lot had to remain in the parking lot. Those entering the Temple had to remain in the first floor and those already upstairs were taken to the Celestial Room. Then, the miracles began to happen: A brother serving as a recorder that day is a Microbiologist by profession and used to deal with hazardous substances every day. He was the first to say the white powder in the envelope was only talc, and put every one at ease. Then the sister coordinator upstairs was impressed to call upstairs to the sealing area, and said "They said we can't go down but no one said we can't go up, and I have many people in the Celestial room with their ceremonial clothes on ready to work. Could they do some sealings?" As it happened, there were four sealers present that day and they ran four sealing sessions non stop while the Temple was closed. Downstairs, someone else thought to invite those in the Lobby to do some initiatories, which they promptly did for all those hours too, brothers and sisters alike. Among those waiting in the parking lot there was a large group of young men and women with their leaders who had come to do Baptisms for the dead, and who waited patiently all those hours and decided when the Temple was reopened to go ahead and fulfill their assignment instead of driving back home. The Temple reopened in time for the 5:30 PM session. The next day when recording the ordinances, they discovered that they had performed 2000 sacred ordinances on Thursday, only one less than the day before when three stakes had been visiting the Temple. Once again the assistant matron reminded us of the words of the prophet Joseph Smith, "No unhallowed hand can stop the Work from progressing...". But, this is not all, a prophecy was fulfilled also. When the new LA Temple President was set apart by President Uchdorft of the First Presidency, he received a blessing and these words were pronounced: " The time has come for the LA Temple to come out of obscurity and become an Ensign for Righteousness to the world under your presidency." The pictures of the Temple have been shown on TV, newspapers and the internet, not only in this country but worldwide. People of other faiths have called and sent letters to the Temple thanking the Church for defending marriage and protecting the family, and commenting how impressed they are by how beautiful and majestic the Temple looks . One minister of an African American church, who by his own admission had harbored ill feelings against the mormons before said " I am impressed by your integrity and Christ like behavior, and even if I am not ready to consider you my brothers and sisters in Christ, we can be first cousins!". I asked the assistant matron if I could share her comments and she said to go ahead. I can only add my own testimony that I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the power and authority of God on earth. God Lives and Jesus, His only Begotten Son and our Savior is coming soon to redeem His people. I am grateful to know this and I pray we stand firm, steadfast and immobile while the prophecies of the signs before His Coming are fulfilled. "Be not afraid, only believe" He has said, and also " What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same." I testify that this is true and testify it in the Holy Name of Whom I strive to serve, even Jesus Christ. Be faithful and safe is my humble prayer.
-Your sister in Christ,
Patricia H. Arnazzi

I Quit

I officially quit my job this past weekend. I loved my salon so much but things haven't been working out lately. Kiel is working more and building his business and I really need to support him in that and be there for as much as possible. It's been a really rough decision that I've been contemplating about for about 3 months so it was hard to cut that cord. I love everyone at the salon and wish them all the best but for now I'm just chilling being SuperMom.. I guess... I've been thinking about going back to school to become a nurse but It's all ideas right now until we figure out how things will go after Kiel gets all his new stops under control. At least one of us has an Amazing job. In times of craziness at least people will still be buying bread. So everyone Support your Sara Lee Vendors!!! "Nobody Doesn't Like Sara Lee". Haha. I'm just kidding. Anyways... That's what's going on in the Wendelschafer house!

He wouldn't let go of his candy bag no matter how heavy it got. He loved it!

Bike Rides

Connor and I love our Bike.. We've been going on bike rides at least once a day!!! Today Connor, Petey and I rode down to Kiel's Big Fry's to surprise him in the back when he was all finished!! Connor loves the bike, now that's he's over the fear. And my little Petey... well I wore him out! I didn't think it was possible but he's been pooped all day!! Buddy our bigger dog wasn't up for the long ride.. (he has a little bit of a limp leg so long rides aren't his thing) The weather has been so nice! We probably went at least 4 miles. It was fun! We'll go again tonight with Kiel and Buddy!

I LoVe my Family*

Yesterday Connor put himself into his swing and just chilled there until he fell asleep..... Ahhhh.. yeah that would have been nice.. no he fought it all day and then I just put him in there shut the bar thingy and he tried to get out but in his efforts he got tired and fell asleep like this... oh my angel. I love him so much!!! Even when I'm mad or frustrated at him it's hard for me to keep a straight face. He knows when I'm bluffing. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing child! Through the struggle and emotional meltdown of bringing him into this world, he sure has made it easy since then. I'm so lucky! I never really thanked everyone that was around me at that time for being so amazing and supportive. I still can't think about that time without crying (and I HATE Crying) but through the tears I want to thank my amazing family for helping me through that tough/special time! Hayley... I told you we needed to have kids at the same time to help and you fell through. You're the greatest sister n'law a girl could ask for. I love you guys so much!!!!
