ASU vs. The Almighty Oregon Ducks

A couple of weeks ago Kiel had the greatest idea of going to the ASU vs. Oregon Ducks football game with his brothers and dad. Kiel and his family grew up all over Oregon so they’ve always held onto it. Before the game we all made sure we were fully prepared with Oregon tee shirts. I have to say there weren’t too many Duck fans in the crowd but we were in a friendly spot so we weren’t harassed to badly. But the Mighty Ducks prevailed with a Great Win!!! 42 to 31! It was a great game. I was just happy to walk out of the stadium as a winner. The ASU fans were pretty quiet when we made our way back to the car. It was a very late night but fun! I am sure we’ll do it again.

Happy 80th Grandpa!

It was such a beautiful week in Utah! The kids and I flew into Salt Lake last Tuesday and spent the week prepping for Grandpa Pedersen’s 80th birthday celebration!!! The kids had so much fun romping around with their cousins and family. Plus the weather was just perfect. It nearly broke my heart when the captain of the plane heading back into Phoenix said it was beautiful and 102 degrees… :( but Utah’s weather sure did give me hope that cooler weather does exist and we’ll see it soon!

Both Connor and Chloe loved running around and playing with all furry friends that were there this weekend!!!DSC_0030 - CopyDSCN1601 - Copy

Miss Chloe started to really take off while we were there. She was walking all day long. I don’t think I’ve seen her crawl since we’ve been home. Yeah Sissy!

While Chloe was taking a nap. Grandma, Uncle Monte, Aunt Hayley and all the cousins went on a little hike up to the top of Pine brook to see the flag. Connor came home that day and crashed with Grandma!!! They took a good……long….. nap!

Uncle Eric said he would help me get some good shots of my little monkeys one day… these are not edited yet but I had to share a little taste.

Kiel was able to take a couple of days off from work to be with us. It makes it a GREAT vacation when he can be with us!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Grandpa Pedersen. He was just tickled about all the attention he received in one weekend. We had a beautiful dinner for just the adults the night before.. then Saturday was the big BBQ at the Miller’s house. It was a beautiful day. I don’t think Grandpa sat down for more than 10 minutes. He was like a school boy all over again! We love you Grandpa!!!

The Theme of the day was “Grandpa for President” Eric designed the shirts we all wore and he made election posters with his picture and name all over them. It was really sweet to really spoil the old guy. It was a beautiful weekend!!!

I have to post that Kiel and I completed our goal of memorizing The Living Christ (The testimony of the Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints).jesus-christ_1 I have to admit to having fun with Kiel. After dinner each night we would grab it and go over it while Connor would ssssslowly finish his meal. But we’ve got it down! I am proud of us. Love you Hunny.

Confessions

Kiel has always been really good about taking his vitamins every morning… Something I am not so great at. When I was pregnant he would always ask me, like a child.. “did you take your prenatals?” which I would always say yes… (as I was taking it). But now I told him, if he laid out pills for me I would take them. So each morning I come down stairs to a little pile of pills. I don’t know exactly what I am taking but I know one of them is for sure a Fish pill. I love my boy for taking care of me!

One thing I taught Kiel when we were dating was something my dad did with me while I was growing up. Whenever we were holding hands my dad would squeeze 3 times, which meant I Love You. To which I would respond by squeezing once or three times… meaning dido… i love you. So I taught Kiel this awhile back and it has stuck ever since. We do it to each other at least once a day but the funny thing is.. when it’s time for me to go to bed Kiel has already been sleeping for a couple of hours and usually I lay there and hold his bicep or his hand and I will do the 1-2-3 and he will ALWAYS flex back. Even while he’s sleeping he loves me. Melts my heart.

Kiel read in the ensign the other day about a family that decided to memorize “The Living Christ” (The testimony of the Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ensign Apr 2000) and how doing that effected the atmosphere of their home. So we decided to take on the challenge of doing the same thing. So each week Kiel and I will attempt to memorize a new phrase or paragraph. Wish us luck.

The other day I got our monthly statement from APS (our electricity company) and our bill was starting to go down!!! I got so excited I had to text Kiel the good news. I know that sounds sad but summer is tough with the electricity climbing so high. I am proud of us. Our bill was significantly lower than last summer… well it also helped that I wasn’t pregnant this summer. I love living in Arizona… it’s hot in the summer but I am grateful to live where ever my husband is.

Bye Bye Binky

Yesterday was Day one without Chloe’s Binky. After Connor turned one Kiel and I decided to take his away and it worked out fine. Before they really get a chance to get attached and get emotional about it. Chloe slept fine last night.. she woke up a little earlier than usual (For her…) but other than that, it hasn’t seemed to bother her. Hooray/Sad. It’s bitter sweet for me to see her grow up. Who knows if I will ever be doing this again.

C is for…

We took a break yesterday and reviewed our A and B.. but today we moved onto letter C… I cut out in Circles pictures of Connor and Chloe and since Connor LOVES gluing things I let him glue them all over his page.
