We Survived

Last week was the much anticipated Girls Camp! Something… honestly I was dreading a little bit… even more after I found out I was pregnant. But we had a great time! My Mom.. the amazing Grandma Miller flew into town just to play with my 2 monsters so I could go the entire time! Oh how Connor and Chloe love their grandma!

The First day consisted of driving up to Roosevelt Lake and spending most of the day there by the loading dock. The Lake was really really full so any trace of a “beach” was under water so we made due… The girls had a lot of fun out on the boat, canoes, kayaks, and just jumping off the dock. A family in our ward donated their boat and their time to let the girls go wake boarding and tubing! On the 3rd round of girls to get on the boat.. if there was enough room I said I would go… and of course there was room!! The owner of the boat asked if he could go wake boarding so I offered my Awesome boating skills and I drove him. Out of 4 attempt he got up 3 times…. pretty good… I was impressed with my driving skills! I know Grandpa Miller would be proud : ) After some wake boarding it was tubing time!! And I had to put the girls to shame with my Tubing experience!! I had a great time and I loved watching some of the y0ung women go out and trying new things and coming out of their shells. It was a great day… but unfortunately everyone got fried!! We all went to camp exhausted and looking like lobstas (That’s Mainer slang for Lobsters…. .. just in case…).

The rest of camp was fun… there was No drama.. which kinda shocked us leaders but it was refreshing. With almost 30 girls that’s hard to come by. Very impressed! The next day was the hike… due to everyone being tired, sore and already really burnt they decided to make the hike a little shorter than planned. I had planned on being the one that stayed behind in case any of the girls needed to stay back but again to my surprised everyone was up for the challenge so at the last minute I packed my things together and we were all off! It was a really beautiful day and the girls didn’t complain to bad so a successful hike I thought!

At the end of the trip I was really glad I went and I had the chance to really get to know the girls much better. I was really impressed at their willingness to serve and help around camp. I’ve never had a “ward” camp before but I am really grateful I was able to be apart of it this year. It was more intimate and allowed the girls to work together. I really enjoyed camp and I am so grateful to be apart of the young women organization. Even though it’s exhausting at times… it’s worth it.

Coming home from camp I was completely exhausted and was grateful that my mom stuck around throughout the weekend to help me get my life back together! My dad also came down to spend the weekend. We went out to Benihana’s for a special Father’s Day dinner. Connor loved that!!  It was a great week!!!

A special thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for making the effort to coming down here to the Extreme heat to help with the kids!!! We are so lucky to have such supportive family and friends!!!

May’s Travels

I am a little behind on my posting… but in May the kids and I went on a 3 week adventure to Las Vegas and then on to Utah with my family! Aunt Erin flew into Arizona and spent a couple of days and then she helped drive Connor, Chloe and I to Las Vegas. Our first stop on our trip. We met up with my parents and spent almost a week there enjoying the cooler weather and my brother Monte and his family.

On our drive from Vegas to Park City we stopped in St.George to play with Grandma and Grandpa Miller for a little bit. We love Grandma’s house. She makes Grandpa pull out all of their fun kid toys!! The kids loved playing outside and running around for a little bit!St. George

Next… On to Park City! We really had fun being at “Grandma’s house in the mountains”. It was a surprise a couple of mornings waking up to snow on the ground…. But the weather turned out to be beautiful for the weekend everyone flew into town! Eric and his newly fiancĂ© Libby came from Boston to spend the weekend. Kiel flew up for a couple of days. And we had even more family come from Idaho and Washington State. It was a great weekend celebrating the one and only Queen Valerie!!  Oh how she loved every minute of us doting on her and having her as the center of attention:)

It was a great weekend full of jumping on the trampoline with Uncle Eric and future Aunt Libby…playing cards…roasting smores…playing family jeopardy…playing the (cooled down) hot tub…tons of great food and just being goofy!! It was nice to get away and enjoy family!

And as an extra souvenir from the trip Kiel and I found out we were expecting again. I am not great at keeping secrets so I had to share with everyone that day!
