After a LONG brutal 5 weeks Kiel’s Dodge truck came home better than new. Well the insides…it still has a lot of……. character (which I love…). It has undergone a lot of repairs and we are Very grateful and relieved that it is home and back to work. I am sure the Excursion is tired and now Happy it doesn’t have to pull Kiel’s trailer everyday : ) Without going into full detail about the truck.. Which I totally could… because I understand…. (can you believe it ?) Not that I could tell you which one was the transmission or the engine… but I can explain what happened.. and why it took so long…. But just to get it out there…. we are back to being a 2 CAR Truck family and so grateful for it!

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter. The day has finally come. This morning I was was ready to put aside all the “commercialism” to Easter and really remember what the holiday was really about. Not that the Easter Egg hunting and the Bunnies aren’t cute but I am grateful for the Real holiday and what it stands for. I was grateful today to have the opportunity to teach about the Holy Week to the Young Women. It gave me a chance to learn and reflect on the Savior’s life and all that he suffered and gave up for me. I love this holiday and all that means. Today was a good day.
The kids before Church!
Being silly as usual:)
And of course…. I couldn’t resist giving the kids a Small… modest Easter Basket after church. They had plenty of candy already:)
Hope Everyone had a Wonderful Easter Weekend!

Another Egg Hunt
This morning we went with Grandma Theresa and Grandpa Mark to another Easter Egg hunt. The kids had a great time.
Before the egg hunt began I had to distract Chloe from all the eggs with some Crackers I had in my bag… Thank goodness or I would have had a lot of dirty looks from parents when she started to grab eggs before everyone else! She was so excited! Connor and Chloe’s ages were separated into 2 different sections so I stuck with Chloe while Grandpa Mark took Connor.
When the time finally came to go, Chloe was all about it… slowly but surely she filled the ENTIRE basket… so big she could barely carry it. But she was determined. I heard that in Connor’s age group the eggs were gone in a blink of an eye.. Chloe had more time. She inspected each egg and gently placed it in her basket. She loved it! They had a great time. Thank you Grandma and Poppa!
until next year…. Happy Easter!

Easter Egg hunting
This morning was our Annual Neely Ward Easter Egg hunt. This is our 3rd year and it’s something the kids love every year! Of course. Sorry my pictures aren’t great… It was super bright and I was trying to keep up with Chloe the entire time… She was serious about her eggs!!! The kids had a blast. When they said Go Connor was off and I didn’t see him until his basket was full. He did great! Chloe was just a quick. She was so antsy the entire time! She loved it!!
Chloe was getting upset seeing all the eggs she couldn’t touch yet…. She cheated a little bit and had a chocolate when I wasn’t looking … sneaky little girl!
Side note: I decorated Connor’s shirt…. I did some Freezer paper stenciling. I made Connor 2 shirts and Chloe 2 shirts. Connor liked his traffic light shirt. Turned out cute.
It was a fun morning!!

long time coming…
I thought I would type this post over a week ago… but this project took me a little longer to finish. A little over 2 weeks ago I started the daunting project of refinishing our deck. I took all the furniture off, moved our plant pots and started cleaning and sanding. Kiel chipped in and helped re-secure some of the posts. After the 24 hour drying time I started in on the staining!! I had to work around the rain that was coming one of the weekends so that set me back a couple of days… but finally piece by piece I finished it! It’s still not perfect… it’s an old deck but I think this has helped and will keep it looking nice for much longer! So here’s some pictures!
With the furniture off and I had sanded as much as I could….
This is after the Cleaning spray with the power washer!
2 coats of stain later….
Add some furniture and Wha*La! Finished April 21, 2011. Yeah!
Ready for summer!

Creepy Crawlers
A Lady in my ward shared the best idea with me the other day… She had a “Bug” birthday party for her son and she had all the little boys make these Lady Bug containers. So with her advice I went down to the Nursery just one block away and bought 1,200 Lady Bugs for $8! We came home and put these little guys in the frig so they would go to sleep in the meantime we put together our container for some of them.
We added a moist paper towel at the bottom, then went outside and grabbed some grasses, and some leaves off our tree. Then lastly we added a few water soaked Raisins for the lady bugs to suck on. Then of course we poked holes in the top of the lid…. Now ready for our lady bug friends! Daddy helped with this part… shocker I know. Then we watched them play. Connor and Chloe loved it. They won’t last long like this but we decided to let them sleep in the frig at night to hopefully keep them alive a little longer.
What happened to the other 1,150 Lady Bugs you ask? Oh, tonight once it got dark I went out and put the sleepy lady bugs on my plants outside to help my plants from being eaten by other bugs! Go get em’ Lady Bugs! The man at the Nursery told me to do it at night because the lady bugs won’t wander to far in the dark. They will lady their eggs on the plant and they will stick around. So that’s been our day! Bugs.

Enough is Enough…
Tuesday morning 3:30AM Kiel calls me and tells me his truck broke down again and asked if I would come get him. So I woke the kids up and we jumped into the car to rescue Daddy. He took the car back out to finish all he could for the day.
Kiel texted me and asked me to start researching a Large enough SUV that would pull his trailer.
This has been something we’ve thinking about doing for a very long time… this will help if Kiel’s truck is broken down. It will help in so many ways. It was emotional for me to let the Passat go but it’s a win-win situation for everyone.
So our new “ride” is a 2003 Ford Excursion, Diesel. Super Clean and really nice on the inside. Much nicer than I had anticipated. It was really taken care of.
We really like it and currently it’s out working with Kiel right now so it’s already pulling it’s weight… haha….
