Today we invited some friends over to learn our letter B. We glued all different B things onto our paper and then ate BLUEBERRIES with delicious crème!!! They loved it.

ABC’s

Today was the day I was ready to start learning our ABC’s. Connor and I have been working together on some pre-K workbooks that I found so I decided it was time to start sitting down with him for at least 30-45 minutes and have a planned lesson. Since he just turned 3 I didn’t want to sign him up for preschool quite yet and there aren’t a lot of women in the ward with 3 year olds that want to do the “joy school” thing so I decided to take matters into my own hands. On other days I might invite some of Connor’s friends to come over and do it with us… but for our first day it was just us! Today was A!!! We talked about a lot of words that start with the letter A.. we glued apples and the Letter A on our basket paper (which he is in love with glue now… which is great, it’s my favorite)…

Then we looked at apples, he matched the same colored apples and then of course we ate the delicious apples!

He said green is his Faaavorite!! I also made a chart on the frig for all our letters. So when he knows the name of each letter he can GLUE it onto the chart! It was a good first day.

I think he realized the green ones are a little sour:)

Taylor’s Baptism

Yesterday we attended our niece, Taylor’s Baptism. She is the oldest and first to go. It was really sweet to see her and how excited she was to get baptized. She has the sweetest, kindest spirits. Taylor asked Kiel and I to read a poem and give a talk during her program. We were happy to participate. Michelle (Taylor’s Mom) told me that Taylor wanted the 3 white dresses poem to be read. I have always known and loved this poem so I didn’t think it would be a problem. Then yesterday morning my mother reminded me that my Grandma Miller read that poem to me at my baptism and that she gave me 3 white roses to symbolize  the 3 white dresses. So.. what did I do… I went out and got 3 white roses… If I could ever be like one person my Grandma Miller would defiantly be up there on my list. After the baptism I sat and read through the poem and refreshing my memory, I thought this will be easy. When it was my turn I stood up and started to read the poem. After reading the first line my grandmother’s face comes to my mind and I think about how she has been with me while I’ve worn all 3 of my white dresses. I became overwhelmed with emotion and barely made it through the rest of the poem. After I sat down I saw that Kiel was teary eyed as it was his turn to speak.. he leaned over and said thanks:) He did a great job speaking to Taylor about the Holy Ghost. It was a great day and We were so thankful we could be there for Taylor!!

We are Back in business

We have had a lot of computer trouble this past month with the computer working and then breaking down and fixing it a couple of times until the Best Buy “Geek” told us that our 1 1/2 year old computer’s motherboard was dead. Ha. Of course… He said we could send it out and have it repaired for about $500.. or buy a new computer. Hmm.. tough one. So we decided to buy a cheaper computer and then add all our new gadgets and hard drives from the old one to make a bigger, faster MEGA computer!! I feel like I know way to much about computers now. Oh well… but I am so grateful for having friends that know everything about computers that have helped us out through this long, frustrating process!!! You are all awesome! So without having a computer for a week… it’s nice. It’s like a part of me was dead. Kiel and I would automatically walk over to the desk and then remember there wasn’t a computer there:( I have to honest, I felt naked without it. Well anyways. We’re back and running. Hooray!!! Until the next drama. Good night world!

Our “Sleeping Beauty”

I have been so lucky and blessed with children that have always been such amazing sleepers. But, lately Chloe has been outrageously easy. She wakes up in the morning between 8-9am.. and then she is good to go until lunch time. I have to stretch her some days but I can usually get her to last until Connor goes down for his nap. This past week she has been taking 3 hour naps!!!!! She out sleeps Connor! I have gone in a couple of times just to make sure she’s still breathing and all! Then she’s a happy little bird until bed time. Like I said, I have so grateful and blessed!! I can just lay her down with her “glow sea horse” in one arm and her blankie in the other and she’s good to go. She must be growing a lot this week… because she is chowing down at every meal and sleeping like a bear. Love it.

Something we thought was cute.. the other night after dinner and RIGHT before bath time we gave the kids some Oreos for dessert. I think Chloe liked hers…

We Survived!!

Welcome to our weekend! Ready??

Thursday – Kiel locked down a great guy to run his route for the weekend so he could come with Connor and I on the ward Campout. So he took off Friday and Saturday… When Kiel came home from work on Thursday, while he was typing something up on our computer, it lost it’s connection with the screen… so that was #1… our #2 happened when Kiel was smashing the potatoes on our stove. It totally blew out on him. Something I am sure would have happened at any point. The entire thing was shot. Not even the oven would work. So we finished dinner on the grill… An hour or so after all of that I left for a baby shower and left Kiel to put the kids down for bed. (love you darling!!) I came home, folded and put away 4-5 loads of laundry and packed up for our campout.

Friday – We got up, Kiel changed the oil in the car, and then again watched the kids while I ran and did a quick client’s hair. Then back home, packed up all of our stuff, swapped cars with Kiel’s Mom/Mark and gave them Chloe and Petey. They lent us their little truck to pack up all of the supplies for the ward (since I am on activities committee and there was only 2 of us going up I had to bring up all the food and supplies). By 1 we were finally on the ROAD!!! Once we got there… things completely slowed down, which was wonderful!!!!

On the way up there Kiel and I talked about how neither one of us had gone camping in a long time. For me, it’s been almost 8 years.. and for Kiel it’s probably been 6 years. Crazy. But we had a great time. Connor loved running around with all his little friends and having so much freedom. He never left our sight but the campsite was large enough, he felt like he was on his own. It was wonderful! Here’s some photos.

Connor has such cute friends. He loves his Macy!!!!

We came home Saturday morning and got into fixing our 2 little blunders. Obviously we’ve fixed our computer.. once again. We’re getting really good at this computer stuff. So far we’ve switched out the power supply and the graphics card. Fun stuff! Plus we ordered a new stove. Fun fun fun.

**Happy Birthday Chloe**

Today I got a little emotional looking back at how quickly my little girl has grown up. It was today, one year ago that I calmly went into surgery and out came my beautiful, healthy Chloe. I would relive that day, anytime. I’ve said it so many times but it’s really true, Chloe has been such a blessing in our lives. She’s has brought our little family so much joy and love.

It’s amazing to see how much she has changed in the past year. Here’s some photos from August 2009.

Today, August 3rd, 2010. One year old!!!!

After dinner we let her have her own slice of birthday cake (that I froze from their birthday bash). She loved it!!! Then we went straight to the bathtub!!!

Cup Cake Wars

Erin tells me that she has been baking up in Utah… so it kinda got me in the mood. Plus we had family over for dinner tonight so I made something special. These are cupcakes made out of brownie mix with chocolate frosting, pecans and homemade caramel drizzle. Delicious!!!!

Erin… Let the battle begin!!! :)
